Synergies Chaleur Receives the Wellness Movement Ball

October 15th, 2011

Bathurst, NB-Synergies Chaleur received the Wellness Movement Ball yesterday from Nepisiguit MLA, Ryan Riordon. The Department of Wellness, Culture and Sport launched the “Wellness Movement” on September 12, 2011. This initiative encourages groups, organizations, community, workplace or schools to join the Wellness Movement by registering and completing an online form that demonstrates a commitment to wellness. This campaign will run from the end of September until February 2012.

Commitments from individuals and organizations will be represented by beach balls which will be passed on from group to group. Following Mr. Riordon’s commitment to run five kilometers at CIBC’s “Run for the Cure” event, he decided to pass on the ball to Synergies Chaleur. To show Synergies commitment to wellness, the group brought members together for a softball game. “We are thrilled to have been selected to receive this ball and we hope it encourages and inspires people from the area to take part in physical fitness activities in our region,” says Mike Goyette, past-captain of the Synergies softball team. The ball has been passed on to the Synergies Chaleur softball team as they placed third in a tournament a few weeks ago in the Chaleur region. Synergies Chaleur will keep the ball rolling---stay tuned, as they will be announcing very shortly which organization they in turn will pass the ball to.
