Synergies Chaleur celebrates its second anniversary and launches its new Citizenship Program
February 29th, 2012
Bathurst, N.-B. – Today, Synergies Chaleur celebrated its second anniversary. Many people from the Chaleur region attended the party at the Nectar Restaurant from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Already well known for its monthly activities and evening get-togethers, the Synergies group has added even more fun events for its members over the last year. With more than 420 Facebook friends, the active participation of around 30 members for each activity and over 120 participants for special events, Synergies Chaleur is still growing. Over the last year, the group has been spreading its wings, creating new committees, a reading club, a softball team and last, but not least, its Citizenship Program, that was officially launched at the second anniversary party.
The role of our Citizenship Program is to greet new residents in the Chaleur Region and help them get adjusted through organized social activities outside the work place. The committee contacts local businesses to acquaint them with Synergies Chaleur and the benefits the group can provide for their businesses, such as retention of employees, for whom the group offers interesting activities.
In the words of David Gracias, "Since I only recently arrived in Bathurst, I have not met many people outside my work place. Synergies Chaleur gave me a chance to socialize and network with interesting, proactive young adults from the Chaleur region. I can't wait to see what the new Citizenship Program has to offer."
It was a delightful evening with good companionship, delicious snacks and great fun - a Synergies Chaleur tradition.
Further information:
Synergies Chaleur is a non-profit organization that brings young and young-at-heart adults from the region together in social situations. The activities are wide ranging: anything from a mackerel-fishing expedition to a political debate, from a snowshoeing afternoon to a themed evening. We organize a complete array of activities with something for everyone.

April Column: Politeness Never Goes Out of Style by Jennifer Henry 2013-04-16 Let me start out by saying that I am not a prudish person. Nor am I the personification of perfect manners all the time. I argue, criticize, disagree and challenge opinions and positions on a regular basis. The important thing to remember is the HOW I do these things.
